Area lakes that Viking Sportsmen have helped stock with Walleyes

For over a decade, the Viking Sportsmen Club has maintained a major Walleye Fingerling Stocking program in Douglas County. This stocking program takes place every year and supplements the walleye stocking done by the Department of Natural Resources. Since the program started in 2007, over two million additional walleye fingerlings have been stocked into area lakes. Thanks to the cooperative efforts of Douglas County Lake Associations, this is the most aggressive privately funded walleye fingerling stocking venture in the state.
The Viking Sportsmen would like to continue funding and facilitating this program and asks local anglers, lake home owners, resort owners, guides, bait and tackle shops to work with local lake associations to support the effort. The Viking Sportsmen will award up to $500 to any Douglas County Lake Association that enhances their walleye fishery through supplemental stocking (see the website for details). If you’d like to help with walleye stocking by contributing a tax-deductible donation, send it to Viking Sportsmen, P O Box 301, Alexandria MN 56308.
Remember, today's fingerlings are tomorrow's memories for kids enjoying the outdoors.
