Motion by Dale to accept minutes, seconded by Jim B. Motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT
General Checking Thrivent General Fund Habitat Day

Prudential Scholarship Tree Account Ice Fishing Challenge

Motion by Roger to accept treasurer’s report, seconded by Arlene. Motion passed.
OLD BUSINESS
Þ Display board /Pamphlets – still waiting for input on some of our projects.
Þ Roger moved to donate $250.00 to Evansville Sportsmen banquet, seconded by Paul Hanson. Motion passed.
Þ Banquet – committee met and went over bids. Banquet will be April 2, 2009 at Holiday Inn.
Þ Logging of the hardwoods – Dwain is contacting the logger, if amount owed to Viking Sportsmen isn’t paid by Oct 17, he will take the next step in collecting. DeWayne Bisek lost 3 acres because of the length of time taken to remove the wood from land. Motion by Dale to pay him $55.00/acre total of $165.00, seconded by Jim B. Motion passed
Þ Fish stocking – Matching funds with lakes through hospitality. This money should be in a separate account from the rest of treasury. Gene moved to match funds up to $2,000 on 15 lakes within 10 miles of Alexandria this year. Motion passed.
Þ Ice Fishing Challenge – we need more Viking Sportsmen members to get involved in planning of this event. Jim Stratton noted major prizes done. Next meeting is Nov. 11 at the Bemo building.
NEW BUSINESS
Þ Speaker for annual meeting – Mark will work on getting us a speaker
Þ Mark talked more about the Vote Yes; there is some opposition to it, when asked we need to just point out the good that will come when this passes. Don Shelby had good comments Oct 15 on the news show.
Þ Mark gave an update on Dan Lindquist’s condition, he is in good spirits and has some projects he would like to see done, he is working on bag a meal for the hungry meeting at the Pines Oct 17. The family has a contact person who is helping coordinate things that need to be done. If you want to help with anything contact Sony and Hank Janz.
